Colleges & Universities Help Expand COVID Testing in New Mexico

SANTA FE, NM – Five public colleges and universities in Southern New Mexico will offer free drive-thru COVID-19 testing sponsored by the New Mexico Department of Health beginning Thursday, November 5.

The partnership is part of the New Mexico Department of Health’s “red to green” testing surge aimed at expanding testing and driving down the positivity rate of counties in the southern part of the state.

“I am grateful to our college and universities across the state for answering the call to expand access to testing in their communities,” acting Higher Education Secretary Stephanie Rodriguez said. “This is another example of our continued collaboration in higher education to stop the spread of COVID-19 and protect New Mexicans.”

Testing begins Thursday, November 5, and will be available daily from 3 to 7 p.m. Residents must pre-register at www.doineedacovid19test.com.
